Stormtrooper

Stormtroopers were the specialised super infantry troops of the empire, Separate from the Mudtrooper corps and the Bogan-troopers they specialise in ending insurgencies for the galactic empire and most are loyal to the empire.

Stormtroopers were the successors of the Clone troopers as the military troopers of the galactic empire. Though many first gen stormtroopers were former clone troopers by the time of the empire they were mostly citizens of the empire who weren't clones.

Despite their reputation they mostly have a hard time against the Rebel alliance, they weren't built for insurgents like them. And their totally useless against force users like Jedi and Sith, especially Sith lords.

History:

The Stormtrooper corps were formed in 19 BBY by Emperor Palpatine to replace the Clone troopers of the Galactic Republic, though most members were surviving clones some were everyday citizens like Osborne Nass( who would become dark lord of the Sith Darth Olmec).

After their formation the Stormtroopers quickly became the keepers of peace in the galaxy as they stopped many insurgencies across the galaxy. Many people started fearing them though for their atrocities but not as much as they feared their predecessors.

Their first problem for the grope was with the Olmec Insurgency which showed how useless they were against Sith lords. But that wouldn’t be a nail in the coffin yet because they were still  ineffective against the rebel alliance though more so the against Olmec.

They would initially fall after the fall of the empire, being used by remnants, however they would be revived by the first order and be even more dangerous because they were more trained in handling more insurgencies then the empire ones.

But they got scrapped at the end of the resistance/First order wars when they were absorbed into the republic army and renamed republic troopers.

Recruitment:

During the empire era 90 percent of the stormtroopers were Humans or near humans like Miraluka, also many of them were initially all male troopers but over time female citizens could apply to become troopers.

The first order on the other hand would recruit children like Jedi would and train them from birth and were less strict then the empire, recruiting many children into their ranks as stormtroopers instead of humans.

Ever since the Olmec incident it was mandatory to report force sensitive Stormtroopers in fear of having another Darth Olmec.

Specialisation:

Snowtrooper: They were specialised in cold climates like Hoth, they wore a breathable hood instead of a full helmet and were more insulated then other troopers.

Lava-troopers: They were specialised in operating in volcanic conditions like Mustafar and most lava troopers were on Mustafar, they had more advance recyclable air systems.

Aqua-troopers: they looked like Scout-troopers and were specialised for water environments like Kamino, they were adapted for water environments.

Scout-troopers: they would scout sparsely inhabited worlds for threats, easier to dispose of and not as dangerous as standard Stormtroopers.

Space-troopers: very rare troops used in space and were given space suits to survive in the conditions, very unpopular.

Death-troopers: specialised troopers and were more trained in assassinations, they also worked well as guards.
